Advanced Endodontics
1st – 3rd septEMBER 2025
Endodontic retreatment can be very challenging for clinicians especially in decision making to get the best outcome of a previously failed endodontic treatment. Understanding the reasons for the failure, achieving minimally invasive access, complete removal of old root canal filling material, root canal morphological variations, predictable debridement using evidence-based protocols and latest devices, obtaining three-dimensional obturation and good coronal seal are very essential factors for the success of an endodontic treatment. Therefore, this 3-days advanced endodontics workshop will focus on a systematic approach to formulate the clinical diagnosis, use of microscope, ultrasonics, and evidence-based treatment protocols to accomplish the predictable success in treating failed endodontic cases.
Upon completion of the programme, the candidate should be able to:
• Enhance the evidence-based knowledge and improve skills in managing failed endodontic cases in clinical practice.
• Develop familiarity with the use of magnification and latest instruments and technology in managing failed endodontic cases with a higher degree of confidence and predictability.
• Understand management of cracked teeth and teeth with calcified canals.
• Boost confidence in managing teeth with immature open apex and large periapical lesions.
• Manage tooth perforation and handle various bioceramic- based materials.
• Manage root canals with ledges, and separated instruments.
• Benefits of illumination/magnification using operating microscopes, ultrasonics, advanced rotary endodontic files, newer irrigation devices, thermoplasticised obturation techniques/systems, latest bulkfil materials to make endodontic treatment easy, quick and predictable.
• Understanding of instruments, clinical procedures and protocols in managing failed endodontic cases.
• Approaches to manage cracked teeth and teeth with calcified canals.
• Strategies to manage tooth perforation and handling of various bioceramic- based materials.
• Various treatment modalities to manage teeth with immature open apex.
• Clinical tips and tricks to manage teeth with ledges, and separated instruments.
• Clinical tips and tricks to manage mandibular second molar with ‘C” shaped root canals.
• Strategies to manage badly broken-down teeth using post and core.
• Upon completion, participants will be awarded with a Certificate, take home materials and instruments worth RM1000.
