Treatment planning is a complex process that’s often underestimated because it’s assumed to be purely a knowledge issue. However, it’s more akin to an executive building a strategy for a company, or a research team figuring out a new branch of science. It involves the interplay between knowledge, financial calculations, communication, decision-making, confidence, goal setting, and executive function.
In this one-day boot camp, Dr. Lincoln Harris will present a broad range of procedures and role-playing exercises to demonstrate decision-making theory, common psychological barriers to effective planning, and efficient methodologies for achieving optimal outcomes quickly and productively.
By the end of the day, you will be better equipped to create treatment plans that are ideal for your patients, financially rewarding for your practice, carry lower legal risk, and result in higher patient satisfaction.
What You Will Learn
This one-day boot camp will teach you to:
– Plan both simple and highly complex treatments efficiently and with less stress.
– Recognize and overcome your own psychological barriers that lead to poor clinical decision-making.
– Understand executive function—how to make decisions when you’re not entirely certain of the best approach.
– Easily determine whether to use resin or ceramic for any given tooth.
– Make more ethical, patient-centered decisions.
– Improve case acceptance rates through better listening and understanding of patient cues.
– Collaborate with patients to clarify the difference between what they want to spend and what they’re willing to spend.
– Decide whether to recommend a root canal and crown, or an implant; and whether orthodontics or veneers would be more suitable.
– Understand a wide array of procedures and how to integrate them—even if referral is needed.
– Reduce legal risks.
– Simplify documentation, making it more professional and legally defensible.
– Become significantly busier with a smaller percentage of your patient base.
By the end of the boot camp, you’ll be able to use the same tools Lincoln has employed to raise millions of dollars from investors, enabling you to strategically plan your own career and reach your goals in less than half the time you might otherwise.
During the day, you’ll create 10—12 treatment plans that range from simple to incredibly complex. You’ll practice presenting these plans in role-play scenarios, adjusting them in real time as you would with an actual patient. You’ll also spend time clarifying your professional aspirations and mapping out a strategy to achieve them.
