Dr Imran Zainal Abidin
Dr Imran Zainal Abidin is an Assistant Professor of Endodontology at the International Islamic University Malaysia dental faculty. He earned his dental degree from Jordan University of Science & Technology Irbid, Jordan and subsequently completed his postgraduate training in the field of Endodontics at King’s College London earning Masters of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontology with distinction in addition to Membership in Endodontology from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
In addition to his full time academic employment, he also spends clinical time at private dental practice focusing on endodontics and restorative dentistry work. His area of interest in research is primarily on the area concerning vital pulp therapy.
Dr Imran was fortunate to be personally trained under the tutelage of world renowned expert in Vital Pulp Therapy; Professor Nessrin Taha during his undergraduate training as well by Professor Francesco Mannocci during his postgraduate training and was involved as clinician in some VPT and caries removal technique clinical trial. To date, he has performed hundreds of vital pulp therapy procedure at his practice and his experience both in academic world as well as private practice is valuable in guiding clinician to be scientifically sound when performing Vital Pulp Therapy, but also pragmatic to the real day-to-day clinical challenge.
