This seminar will guide participants through the intricacies of crafting exceptional anterior and posterior composite restorations. - How to avoid them?
- Recipe for bulk-fill composite restorations: ingredients and instruments.
- Research data about results coming from NYU Laboratory.
- DEMONSTRATION OF BULK FILL FLOWABLE TECHNIQUE: SCULPTURE METHODS AND STAINING TO HAVE NATURAL EFFECTS.
- Video demonstration of a clinical case of posterior bulk fill composite restoration.
Morning
- Adding another composite to the essential layering: effects.
- Comparison of different brands in terms of achromatic and effect composites.
- DEMONSTRATION OF ANTERIOR RECONSTRUCTION USING DENTIN, CHROMATIC ENAMEL, ACHROMATIC ENAMEL AND EFFECT.
- Video demonstration of a clinical case of cosmetic contour from planning to finishing and polishing.
- Methods of simplification of anterior restorations.
Afternoon
- The “Body/enamel” technique or “Freehand technique.”
- The injectable technique uses flowable composites.
- The “STAMP” technique uses regular composites.
- The Universal composites are used for anterior teeth.
- The use of CAD CAM composite blocks: what is the advantage.
- Data coming from NYU Laboratory.
- 3D printing resins are for real?
- The semi-direct technique: an alternative.
COURSE COORDINATOR
Ronaldo Hirata
Ronaldo Hirata finished his four-year DDS course in Curitiba, Brazil, at the Federal University of Parana (UFPR) in 1995. After his degree, he followed an Operative Dentistry Specialty at the same University in a two-year program. He started lecturing at the same University and began his career as an international lecturer, focusing on Esthetic Dentistry. He had been lecturing in more than 40 countries already. His private practice working with Esthetic Dentistry has always been in Curitiba.To improve scientific formation, he did his master’s in dental Materials from 2000 to 2003 at the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS), finishing with a research thesis working with glass and polyethylene fibers, improving the mechanical properties of composites. His PhD in Restorative Dentistry at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) was done from 2005 to 2009. His research focused on composite resins’ transmission, Reflectance, and Fluorescence.In 2012, he completed his post-doctorate at New York University (NYU), working with Plasma application on dentin surfaces and bonding strength analysis.Ronaldo Hirata is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Biomaterials, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Cariology at New York University. He has published over 100 papers in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Hirata’s first book, TIPS, was published in 3 languages, and his second book, SHORTCUTS, also in 3 languages.Dr. Hirata just launched his new book “Recipes for Composite Restorations” from Quintessence Publishing in 3 languages, including English. This textbook gives some “recipes” with the ingredients and instruments necessary to execute 26 restorations.
