Learning Objectives:
- Should be able to do a thorough treatment plan with option on which materials to choose from micro to macro invasive.
- Learn on the many simple and feasible ways on handling mild to moderate cases with composites to the more complicated procedure.
- Will learn the advances on adhesive dentistry and incorporated it into their direct restorative treatment with more confidence.
- Learn the artistic of layering composites with the many modern school of thoughts on this concepts and apply it to their daily direct restorative treatment.
Course Coordinator

Dr. Nurul Huda Hasan earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2004 and began her career in the Oral Surgery Department at HKL, where she served for a decade. She later broadened her experience internationally in Dubai, completing the MFDS examination in Abu Dhabi. In 2013, she pursued a Comprehensive Certification in Implantology with the University of Berne, Switzerland, and the University of Sharjah, UAE, and in the same year completed her MSc in Aesthetic Dentistry. Her contributions to the field were recognised with her nomination as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists in 2014.
She recently completed her PhD in restorative and aesthetic dentistry, during which she developed a new tooth proportion formula tailored to the Malaysian population across different ethnic groups.
Dr. Nurul currently serves as President of the Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and is the former President of the Malaysian Association of Aesthetic Dentistry. Her professional interests span analogue and digital smile design, the use of prefabricated composite resin in aesthetic rehabilitation, composite materials, and adhesive dentistry. She also leads academic development as Chief of Academics at The Dental Academy Malaysia while continuing her clinical practice in several established private clinics across Kuala Lumpur.
Course Curriculum
DAY 1
The treatment planning in adhesive aesthetic rehabilitation.
• The conventional planning workflow and the new digital workflow.
• The state of the art of dental adhesives.
• Adhesion of restorative materials on the dental tissues
• The effect of the polimerization on the adhesive bond strength
Hands-On practical part:
• Class Ill, IV & V direct composite restorations, diastema closure, peg lateral
• The integration of different matrices and alternatives or injection moulding techniques for anterior direct restoration.
• Rubberdam placement
• Placement of composite with and without silicone matrix.
• Isolation and adhesive bonding
• Composite layering mapping
• Shape and texture in direct composite resins.
• Finishing and polishing techniques.
• Finishing and Polishing for Primary, Secondary and tertiary anatomies
DAY 2
Direct aesthetic restorations on posterior teeth: materials and techniques.
• The key to posterior anatomy
• Shades in posterior composites
• Isolation and matrices usage in difficult to assess cases.
• Immediate dentine sealing (IDS) and is it applicable in direct composites restoration
• Case reports on deep caries management
• The importance of using the right materials, and armamentarium in handling deeply seated cavity margins (DME).
Hands-On practical part:
• Direct composite veneers.
• Class I & II direct composite restorations.
• Techniques with Matrices and placement of rubberdam.
• Cuspal Guided Placement and other methods in composite placement.
• Gross carious tooth – caries free techniques, pulp protection, micro etching.
• Deep Margins elevation and large sub gingival carious cavity – how to handle cases.
• Finishing and Polishing procedures in anterior and posterior teeth.

Should there be a need to cancel or withdraw from the course for a valid reason, participants must notify us in writing via email at info@thedentalacademy.com.my at least thirty (30) days prior to the course commencement date.
The following refund terms shall apply:
- More than 30 days prior to course commencement: A refund will be issued in the form of store credit only.
- Less than 30 days prior to course commencement: No refunds will be provided and any amount paid shall be forfeited.
- All fees paid are non-transferable to other courses or participants.
- Any refunds or store credits approved will be processed to the original payment method used at the time of registration, where applicable.
- The management reserves the right to amend or make changes to the course due to unforeseen circumstances.
